Appeal for information after £30,000 jewellery theft

Police are investigating after around £30,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from a house in Kingscote Hill, Gossops Green, Crawley.

Burglars broke in and stole a gold wedding necklace with the symbol of Hindu marriage, a white gold diamond ring, various gold rings, bracelets and necklaces as well as a number of watches and cash.

Detective Constable Matt Wilson said: “A lot of valuable jewellery, much of it of sentimental value, was stolen from the house.

“We believe the burglars broke in some time between 6.30pm and 9.15pm on October 18.

“It’s possible they had a car nearby and we are keen to talk to anyone who saw a person or people acting suspiciously in the area.

“A search had been made of the house and we are carrying out a forensic examination as part of our investigation.

“We aware of the distress these have caused and we are doing everything we can to identify the offenders and provide advice and reassurance.”
