£1,200 stolen from pensioner in Crawley town centre

More than £1,000 was stolen from a pensioner whilst he was out shopping in Crawley town centre, police have said.

Officers said an envelope containing £1,200 in cash was taken from a 75-year-old man’s mobility scooter on Wednesday (May 11).

Police said the theft is thought to have occurred either outside Thomas Cook or Coffee Republic in Queensway between 10.10am and 10.40am, or at the front entrance to Crawley Hospital between 10.50am and 11.35am.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who may have other information is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 669 of 11/05.

Alternatively they can contact the indeependent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).
