Bags of waste collected on Aldwick seafront

Volunteers collected 16 bags of rubbish from a section of Aldwick's seafront.

Between 12 and 20 adults joined in the annual spring beach clean organised for the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers by local resident Margaret Bryant.

They tackled the stretch of foreshore in both directions from the Queensway beach entrance for about 75 minutes.

As well as the bags of general debris, they collected two lobster pots, a lump of concrete and several planks of wood.

Mrs Bryant said: "The event was a great success. It couldn't have been better. Everyone who came along was very enthusiastic."

The collected rubbish was removed by Arun District Council soon after for disposal.
