The dance – which celebrates the life of Matthew and the work the Foundation has carried out in his memory – raised just over £1,000 on Saturday (September 21).

The Foundation was set up by Matthew’s parents, Dominic and Bridgette, following his death in September 2010 at the age of seven.

In the past year, it has donated more than £8,000 to 20 children with special needs.

Bridgette, of Tilgate, said: “It was a really good night.

“Dominic and I took a back seat from organising it this year so we could sit back and enjoy it as it would have been Matthew’s 10th birthday.”

The Foundation is running a grand raffle – which will be drawn on February 14 next year.

Prizes include flights to New York and a week in a villa in Florida.
