Best of British evening at Midhurst and Petworth Rotary Club

THE Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth teamed up with the Inner Wheel Club for a Best of British evening, which doubled as a charity fundraiser to support Cancer Breast Care, Stonepillow and other local charities.

The venue was Midhurst Rother College refectory, which was decked out in red, white and blue.

And nearly 200 people sat down to a meal of Mack-Rotary (mackerel and cream cheese with salad), Saucy Sussex Sausage Casserole, strawberries, shortcake and cream.

Donations for the raffle came from The Cowdray Farm Shop, Imbhams Mill, Tesco in Midhurst, C J Hampshires, The Spread Eagle Hotel, Rotherhill Nurseries, Gerry the florist and Rotarians.

Supporters came from Rotary at Burgess Hill as well as Farnham Inner Wheel and Farnham Wayside Rotary Club, Arundel IW and Midhurst Lions and Chichester Harbour Rotary.

Entertainment came from The F B Pocket Orchestra. President James Reader and Inner Wheel president Chris Barrett thanked all who supported the event.
