A BEXHILL woman pleaded guilty to drink driving after she was caught over-the-limit the day after a night of heavy boozing.

A BEXHILL woman pleaded guilty to drink driving after she was caught over-the-limit the day after a night of heavy boozing.

Magistrates in Hastings heard that Gillian Grace Chester, 50, of Fernely Court, Sutherland Avenue, was routinely breathalized after her car was involved in an accident at 3pm on September 25.

She was found to be over the limit, and was taken to the police station for a blood test, which found she had 84mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg.

Aidan Harvey, mitigating, said: "It wasn't alcohol consumed that day. It was alcohol she consumed the night before. She had been with her family celebrating.

"It wasn't deliberate. It was a simple mistake."

Chester was banned from driving for a year, with the option of reducing the ban to nine months on completion of the drink-driver rehabilitation course, was fined 200 and ordered to pay 75 costs and a 15 surcharge.
