Bid to build 121 flats on ‘tired and vacant’ Crawley town centre site

A bid to build 121 flats next to Crawley Leisure Park has been submitted.

Shaviram Investments applied for planning permission to build the flats at Stoner House’s vacant site in London Road.

A spokesman said: “We are extremely pleased by the high quality of the proposals and look forward to their consideration by Crawley Building Council.”

A spokesman for planning adviser D. Rose Planning LLP said: “The proposals transform a tired and vacant building and deliver much-needed homes including affordable housing in an accessible location.”

The council registered the plans today (Thursday July 16). They included external alterations and extensions to the building for 111 flats. A three-storey building for ten flats would be built on the site.

It is expected to determine the planning application in the autumn.

The council approved the building’s previous owner’s application to make it residential last year.
