Birdman rally left flapping
THIS year's International Bognor Birdman competition at the town's pier has been cancelled because of fears for contestants' safety.
The famous event usually attracts around 25,000 visitors and was planned to take place in Bognor Regis on July 5 and 6.
The decision by the International Bognor Birdman committee on Monday night followed the demolition of a 60ft section of the Grade II listed pier, carried out in the interests of public safety.
The committee is now trying to find another venue so the event can take place.
