Bodiam

Moon Walk: Tony and Lynsey Willard and Kate Waters are doing the London Moon Walk on May 14 in memory of the very brave Vera Sims, who was sadly taken from us on October 9, 2013. If anyone would like to help Tony and Lynsey and Kate to raise a as much money as possible for cancer, phone 01580 830935.

Parish News: Good to report that the new parish news is going from strength to strength. This is due to everyone’s enthusiasm and support. Substitutions and donations from Bodiam residents have increased dramatically resulting in an increase in revenue of over 50 per cent on last year.

Cricket: I have a report on Bodiam Cricket Club’s 2015 season. They had a better year. - they won 10 matches, lost 5 and drew 1. Five matches had to be cancelled due to weather. The club has 2 indoor teams and meets mid week and at the weekend.

Traffic: What can we do about cars queuing right up to the primary school and on the Bodiam to Sandhurst road to get in to the National trust Car park? It is right to complain to the national Trust, I do!. It is not right for residents to have to put up with cars and you can not get in or out of the village. When residents phone the trust, do not be rude to staff, this will not help. Put your points in a fiar way, you can also phone the police.

Vic Lyne: I saw Vic Lyne the other month in Hawkhurst and I asked how he was, a lot better he said. Now I hear that he has died at home. I sometimes had a cup of tea with Vic in Hawkhurst and we would talk about village life in the old days. My condolences to Vic’s family.
