Bodiam

YOU do not have many Dora Churcher’s in the life of a village, but Dora, who is in the twilight of her years, will not now be head of distribution in Bodiam. She now has a young man who will go on for years. That is very good parish news. It is time you had a good rest Dora. Time has caught up with me and I am sure it has with you. Dora you have put in a lot of hard work for the church and the village with Tom. Thank you.

Christmas is not far off and the services at St Giles are carols at 6pm on December 16 and a service of Holy Communion on Christmas Day at 11.15am. At the carols there will be mince pies and mulled wine.

Did you know that the Romans came through Bodiam and did not stay long, but in August 2010 students from the humanities department of Southampton University identified the route across two gardens in the village. If anyone has any information phone 01797 252550.

Two past PCSOs for Bodiam - one is to have a happy event, a baby, that is Sam Kemp, and Emma Phillips has had an operation and will be off work for some time. We all wish them well.
