Police were called to Marion Road, Crawley, around 10.45am on Wednesday (October 28) after the body was found in nearby woodland, a spokeswoman said.
She added: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. There is no further information available at this time.”
Ambulance service vehicles and the Hazardous Area Response Team also attended the incident.
South East Coast Ambulance Service has been approached for more information.
