BREAKING NEWS: Search for missing 65-year-old Ferring man

POLICE have been searching Ferring for a 65-year-old man who has been reported missing.

William Watson went outside his home in Rife Way for a cigarette last night (Monday, September 8) and did not return.

Police were called and have been searching the area today (Tuesday, September 9).

William, who is also known as Bill, is described as being 5ft 10in tall, of a stocky build, with blue eyes, a bald head and shaved hair, he will now have some stubble.

Mr Watson was thought to be wearing a black coat, black trousers, a white T-shirt with a logo, a brown woolen waistcoat, and blue plimsoles.

Police say he is likely to remain on foot in the local area, and is known to enjoy Goring and Worthing libraries.

Mr Watson is a heavy smoker and can often be seen in his own company at a bus shelter or in an enclosed space, enjoying a cigarette.

A police spokesman added: "He may appear to be in an anxious state and may not communicate with a member of the public, if approached."

Anyone who sees Mr Watson is asked to call PC Nicky Sudds at Littlehampton police station immediately on 0845 060 70 999.
