Breakthrough sought on two house break-ins

DETECTIVES based in Bexhill are appealing for anyone who may have further information about two recent burglaries in the town to come forward.

A house in St Davids Avenue was broken into sometime between Tuesday, August 24 and Saturday, August 28 via a rear dining room, and two bicycles and some electrical items including an X-Box were stolen.

A house in Victoria Road was broken into between 10am and 11am on Saturday, September 11 and some 600 in cash was taken.

The thief or thieves damaged both a front and a rear door in their efforts to get in, finally succeeding at the rear. Damage to the doors and frames is estimated at 1,800.

Detective Constable Tod Stewart said; "Anyone who can assist with information is asked to contact us at Bexhill via 0845 60 70 999, quoting Serial 603 of August 28 for the St Davids Avenue burglary, and Serial 762 of September 11 for the Victoria Road burglary.

"House burglaries throughout Rother are significantly down this year, and these are two isolated and unconnected incidents."
