Burwash

Talent: Tonight St Bartholomew’s Church will host their annual Burwash ‘s Got Talent evening, with local stars will performing to win your votes. Entry is £5 for adults, 33 for children, payable at the door. Wine & soft drinks will be provided. The fun begins at 7.30pm. Go along and support the acts and vote for your favourite. The winner will receive the specially commissioned BGT Trophy. All proceeds to the Church restoration fund.

Tea: The Burwash Not So Young club invite you to join them tomorrow afternoon at the village hall for their sale and afternoon tea event, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Entrance is £2 and includes refreshments. Browse the stalls of cakes & produce, books, bric a brac and crafts. Try the tombola & the raffle. All proceeds to the Not So Young club funds.

Walk: The monthly Parish footpath walk will take place on Monday morning. These walks are open to anyone who enjoys the countyside and walking. The walk will begin at the Bear car park at 9am, when Roger cloke will guide you on a morning over the network of public footpaths around our three villages. Just go along and enjoy friendship, fresh air and exercise. The walks are usually over in time for lunch . To find out more call Roger on 01435 884312.

Concert: There is to be another Concert of Remembrance at the Burwash village hall next Saturday, 25 October, in aid of Help for heroes and the Royal British Legion. Entry is £5 at the door. Refreshments and a raffle will be on sale during the interval.

Theatre: Our very own One man Theatre, Brian D Barnes will be performing Animals & Anecdotes in the Burwash Village hall on Saturday 8 November at 7.30pm. Internationally renowned Brian always gives an amazing evening, just him and all the different characters he produces. This time not just one story but several all linked by a light-hearted recollection of moments in just a few of the 87 countries he has performed. Tickets are on sale now from the Burwash News Agents at £12 for adults £6 for students and children.

Bras: Did you know there is a bra recycling centre in Battle. It is called the Bra Bank and supports women in Africa by giving them more personal dignity and raises money for Breast Cancer research. You can drop your unwanted bras, clean and bagged at the battle Post Office using the pink container in the foyer. Pass this on to your friends. They will take any bra washed please, but in any condition.
