Crawley had the sixth lowest proportion of jobs paying below the Living Wage among local authorities outside of London, government statistics have shown.

Office for National Statistics figures stated 11.7 per cent of the town’s jobs paid less than the voluntary rate in 2014.

Runnymede had the lowest proportion of 8.5 per cent, West Somerset the highest with 41.9 per cent.

The Living Wage, which is higher than in London, will be uprated next month.
