A man who drove while more than four times over the limit for cannabis has been disqualified for a year.
Michael Reid, 53, of Beechfields, East Grinstead, pleaded guilty to possession of 10g of the Class B drug and driving while over the limit for a controlled drug.
Melanie Wotton, prosecuting, said he was tested for drugs after police stopped him in London Road, East Grinstead, on March 6.
Geoff White, defending, said Reid had been using the drug for back pain relief and had developed a ‘tolerance’ for it.
Reid was fined £430, banned from driving for a year and given a six month conditional discharge at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (May 27).
He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £43 victim surcharge.
