Car crash probe

Investigations are continuing into a serious car crash which happened on Sunday evening in which a woman aged in her fifties suffered serious head injuries.

The accident happened at 8pm on the A284 at Madehurst, just outside of Arundel, near the Whiteways roundabout.

The woman had been driving her blue Ford Fiesta south towards Arundel when it left the road and hit a tree.

Police closed the road while the fire and rescue service and paramedics cut the woman from the vehicle. She was then taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
