Care home raises £120 for Cancer Research

A SUMMER party held at a Bexhill care home raised £120 for Cancer Research.

Manager of Bay House Care Home (with nursing) Claire Avery said they hold parties four times a year and money raised from the tombola at each event is donated to a different charity, adding:

"It was a fun day enjoyed by all, and the staff worked really hard."

Around a hundred and twenty clients, relatives and friends attended the party and enjoyed a BBQ, buffet, and tombola, along with entertainment performed by local drummers Denge, and a birds of prey demonstration.

Rod Bailey, manager the Cancer Research UK shop in Western Road accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity.

Rod said it was "magnificent" to have raised such a large amount of money from a tombola and was "delighted" to receive the money which will go towards vital Cancer Research.

He added: "I'd like to thank everyone at Bay House for their efforts."
