My apologies: for this week's column being almost identical to last week's, but April is proving to be an exceptionally busy month in the village, therefore all these events merit a mention!

The Spring Show: Tomorrow the Catsfield Horticultural Society will be holding the Spring Show in the Village Hall from 2pm – 4pm. Entrance will be 50p and children free. There will be a Raffle, Teas, Plant and Cake Stalls and of course the added interest of looking at all the lovely entries to see who’s won what and enjoying refreshments.

Jumble Sale: A reminder that the WI Jumble Sale will be held on Saturday week, 16th April from 10am – 12pm, entry 50p. All donations of jumble will be gratefully received at the Village Hall from 8.30am and contributions of cakes for the Cake stall too please. This is to raise money for the WI charity of The Kent & East Sussex Air Ambulance Service, so do please come along, grab some bargains and help raise money for this worthy cause.

Annual Parish Assembly: This important meeting, which affects all Catsfield residents will be held in the Village Hall on Wednesday next 13th April at 7.30pm. It is the opportunity to hear the report by the Parish Council on the past year in the village and plans for the future, as well as reports from the District and County Councils, the police and village groups and organisations. It is in your interest to attend.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting: This will be held in St Laurence Church at 7.30pm on Monday 18th April to discuss church matters and for the election of church officers.

‘On the Box!’: There will be a special event on Thursday 28th April when Catsfield Village Hall is proud to present ‘Bowjangles’ with a show entitled ‘On the Box!’ This promises to be a fast moving, energetic comedy performance by a string quartet who dance, sing, leap, tumble and joke whilst playing all the music and not missing a beat! Tickets are on sale from the Village Stores price £10 and £7 for concessions.

Mobile Library: Today Friday 8th April, the East Sussex Mobile Library will be in its usual place outside the Village Hall from 11.55am – 12.30 pm.
