Centre all kitted out for comfort

Visitors to a Bognor Regis centre are sitting comfortably thanks to one of the town's companies.

Generous bosses at Eurotek donated a vanload of new furniture to the Bognor Regis Youth and Community Centre.

Two sofas and eight chairs, along with a cupboard, were among the furnishings handed over by the firm.

Chief executive Terry Kuhler also agreed on the spot to donate some carpeting to complete the new look for one of the main rooms at the centre.

The items were made by the firm as demonstration models for potential customers or built for exhibitions.

The carpet will come from an area used for publicity photographs for sales brochures.

Carol Fullick, a trustee of the club, said: "I am chuffed to bits at this donation.

"Everyone who comes to the centre will be able to use this furniture. The existing chairs are probably a couple of decades old. It's nice to think that a local business is supporting a local charity at this time. I hope it encourages other firms around the town to follow their example."

The donation arose after Mrs Fullick, who works at the Westloats Lane centre in her role as the development manager for the Bognor CAN group, contacted furniture maker Eurotek asking for help.

Brian Halson, the compliance manager at the Oldlands Way firm, is a Bognorian well aware of the 70-year-old club's role in the community.

A quick chat with Mr Kuhler soon led to the delivery of the items of furniture.

"It would have been a shame to see these items go to waste," explained Mr Kuhler. "I would much rather see them put to good use by a good cause. Brian has lived in Bognor all his life and he believed the furniture would be a great help for people who live in the area."
