Charities invited to get funding from developer

Community groups have the chance to apply for up to £1,000 in funding from a town centre developer.

Land Securities, the developer behind the former Sussex House site in the High Street, has launched a second round of funding for charities and community groups in Crawley.

The funds, up to a maximum value of £1,000 per applicant, will be awarded in January by a selection panel made up of Land Securities, the Crawley Observer, the Town Centre Partnership and the Crawley Community and Voluntary Services.

In March the developer awarded £6,000 shared amongst nine charities.

Cllr Bob Lanzer, Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development, said: “It’s been a real pleasure working with Land Securities. They signed up to our Partner Developer Charter readily, showing their support for local people, businesses and suppliers.”

Mark Bird, senior project manager at Land Securities, said: “We are particularly prioritizing funding for children and young people, older peoples’ activity and health and wellbeing.”

For an application form contact Douglas Johnson on douglas.johnson@ppsgroup.co.uk or on 020 7529 1762. The closing date is Friday December 20 at 5pm.
