Charity shop step nearer to catching thieves on camera

A SEAFORD charity shop may soon have a hi-tech CCTV system to deter shoplifters, thanks to an appeal in the Sussex Express.

A spate of thefts led Cancer Research shop manager Caroline Thompson to ask local businesses to donate any unwanted security camera systems they might have. She said: 'I have had a good response and should have a system up and running very shortly.'

In the meantime, Caroline is calling on people to give their wardrobes a New Year 'detox' and donate all unwanted clothes to the Broad Street shop. She said: 'The New Year really is a great time to take stock of your life - and wardrobe!

'Not only will clearing out your clothes leave you with more space in your cupboards but by donating them to us you will also help give cancer patients a brighter future.'
