Children and adults enjoy High Woods' Family Saunter

A WELL-attended half-term venture saw 29 children and adults take part in the Family Saunter organised by High Woods Preservation Society and the Society of Bexhill Museums.

The charity's president, Alan Malpass, gave Wednesday's walk party a conducted Autumn tour through the wildlife habitat.

The second of the season's Fungi Forays will be held on Saturday when the public is invited to join walk leader and fungus expert Eric Stanley in a quest for Autumn's treasure in the woods. The first fungi foray revealed an abundance of red and white Fly Agarics. Mr Stanley has been leading the forays for 15 years.

The walk party will leave the woodland car park, off the upper section of Peartree Lane, at 10.30am.
