Christmas Coffee morning in Sidley

Home-made cakes and goodies lured the sweet-toothed at the St John Ambulance Fellowship coffee morning and fair, while bargain hunters made straight for the bric and brac or book stall.

There was much to enjoy during the event held in Sidley Sports and Social Club, at what was a pre-Christmas fundraiser, including an impressive raffle and tombola.

Chairman of St John Ambulance Fellowship Win Mastin said: "We have done quite well - we just get such good helpers, and when you look at the raffle you can see that everybody contributes."

"Our fundraising is for buying equipment, badges and uniform, but we also send a cheque to St John's eye hospital in Jerusalem - we like to contribute to that."

The coffee morning was attended by Bertram Sharp, President of the Fellowship for East Sussex, and Sussex Representative Bill Booker.
