Town hall staff got their hands dirty when they planted seedlings and spring bulbs along Queensway.
The team ventured out on a damp Thursday morning (February 26) to tackle the task of giving the town centre a colourful spruce-up. Flowers were donated by Phil Fyfield, who runs the flower stall in Wednesday’s market, while Ferring Nurseries also chipped in. The planting paved the way for Crawley’s Spring Fun event which will be held on Sunday March 29 from 11am to 4pm in Queens Square. Cllr Peter Smith said: “We’re doing this tidy-up to make an immediate and positive impact on the town centre ahead of the major regeneration work in Queens Square that will start next year. This is just one of several shorter-term improvements we are planning to give the town centre a lift and make it a better space for both our residents and businesses to enjoy.”
