Complaint leads to more police patrols in Bognor

Police patrols have been stepped up around a Bognor Regis road after a resident complained his house was being attacked by youths.

The extra law and order presence was put in place following the incidents at the home of Keith Harvey.

Mr Harvey, 60, of Mons Avenue, said: "For the last couple of months, we have been pestered by the same four youths, knocking the door and hurling abuse.

"They have also been throwing things such as oranges, tins of soft drinks and one night last week it was stones."

He claimed his complaints had been ignored by the police.

But Bognor police station's Inspector John Merrick said he believed the problems had been solved by the additional patrols around Mons Avenue in the past week.

Police community support officer Julie Jones had spoken to Mr Harvey's wife soon after his complaints.

PCSO Jones had also spoken to one of the youths said to have been involved in the incidents in front of his mother, he stated.

A further visit would be paid by PCSO Jones to speak to Mr Harvey directly.
