Two new Cabinet members have been appointed at Crawley Borough Council.
Peter Lamb, leader of Crawley Borough Council, has chosen Michael Jones as Cabinet member for Public Protection and Community Engagement and Andrew Skudder as Cabinet member for Resources.
Mr Lamb said: “I’m delighted to add Michael’s and Andrew’s knowledge and experience to the Cabinet. These appointments ensure that we’re well placed to meet the challenges in the year ahead and to focus on our priorities of jobs, home and community.
“I’ve changed four of the portfolios with the aim of making the council more outward-looking because in the current climate we need to be ready to fight for improvements for Crawley in all areas – not just those formally delegated to the authority.”
Mr Lamb said he had renamed some of the Cabinet portfolios to better reflect the council’s priorities.
Councillors Jones and Skudder join five other Cabinet members. They are Peter Lamb, Stephen Joyce, deputy leader of the Council and Cabinet member for Housing; Colin Lloyd, Cabinet member for Environmental Services and Sustainability; Chris Mullins, Cabinet member for Wellbeing; and Peter Smith, Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development.
Their first Cabinet meeting will be on Wednesday 10 June.
