Gladman Developments successfully appealed to the inspector after the council rejected plans for the development at Rusper Road in February.

Today (Thursday September 17), a council spokesperson said legal advice is being sought in relation to the decision.

The council spokesperson said: “The council is disappointed to lose the appeal for 95 homes at Rusper Road, Ifield, particularly as the planning inspector did not agree with the council that considerable weight should be given to its emerging local plan, the Horsham District Planning Framework.

“The council is seeking legal advice on whether the inspector’s decision can be challenged.”

Campaigners fighting the proposed development in Ifield have described the inspector’s decision as a ‘devastating blow’.
