The horses at Buddy’s Yard, a five acre stables in Steyning road, Shoreham, were attacked sometime between 8pm and 10pm on Friday, January 31.

Five of the horses had their tails cut off while another had its mane cut during the attack.

Phil Lee who owns the stables said, “Its like if somebody cut the hair off your young child.

“It was definitely a malicious attack, whoever did it went into the stables to get the first two and then went up into the other fields – in the dark – to make sure they got the others as well.”

A £1,500 reward has been offered for anyone with any information on the attacks, which leads to a prosecution.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101.

An RSPCA spokesman said it was too early to tell if they would call for prosecuting the attackers.

They asked anyone with concerns for an animal’s welfare to call 03001234999.
