Crawley charity's cash boost after musical event

A group of musical performers raised over £1,000 last weekend for Crawley charity the Forget Me Not Club.

The event was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Old Horsham Road.

More than 200 people watched performances from the musicals, including Les Miserables, West Side Story and Oliver!.

Councillor Carlos Portal Castro, Mayor of Crawley was in attendance.

The Forget Me Not Club is his sponsored charity.

The club works to support, advise, signpost, befriend and enable family, friends and carers of people living with dementia.

Beverly Loxstonbown, founder of the charity, summed up the event: “What an amazing evening! I was blown away by the talent, kindness and generosity of everyone there.”

Jonathan Frost, minister at the church which hosted the event, commented “It’s always a privilege to raise money for such worthwhile causes. What Beverly and her colleagues are doing to support carers in Crawley is absolutely wonderful.”
