Crawley Community Awards 2017 - winners announced

Sixteen worthy winners received their Crawley Community Awards in a fantastic evening at the Hawth tonight.

The awards night, which is now in its second year, aims to give recognition to local people and organisations that have played a part in making the community a better place to live.

Organisers received a remarkable 340 nominations for the 16 different award categories.

The winners were:

1. Environment - Jenny Frost

3. Community Group - Tilgate Parkrun

4. Charity - The Posh Club

5. Sports Person - Natalie Greenhough

6. Sports Team - SXN Flitecrew

7. Culture - The Apple Tree Centre

8. Performing Arts - COS Musical Theatre

9. Education - David Reid

10. Local Hero - Maria Cook

11. Volunteer - Beverly Loxston-Bown

12. Volunteer Group - Gravity Youth Club

13. Support Group - Rape Crisis Surrey and Sussex

14. Ind, Achievement - Katie-George Dunlevy

15. Group Achievement - Crawley Old Girls

16. Inspiration - Paul Masters
