The inaugural Crawley Community Awards have had such a positive response from the community that the deadline has been extended by a fortnight.
The awards are being by the Crawley Observer in partnership with Crawley Borough Council at The Hawth.
There have been more than 200 nominations from across the town so far for the 16 categories. There is now more chance to make sure the town’s heroes get recognised in a dedicated ceremony at The Hawth in March.
Group events organiser Pat Slatter said: “In order to ensure that everyone who wants to make a nomination for the Crawley Community Awards can do so, we’ve extended the nomination deadline until Friday February 12.
“More than 200 people have already nominated either online, using the flyers on display in public buildings or using the nomination form in the Crawley Observer.”
People of any age can submit a nomination for any of the categories which include neighbour, local hero, fundraiser and carer - people who may never realise how just being themselves has changed the lives of people they know.
If you know someone who puts themselves out for people, cares for a loved one or goes that extra mile for their community, then make sure they get recognised in March.
All nominations must now be received by February 12. Postal deadline is midday and online deadline is midnight.
Any correspondence received after that time cannot be considered so please nominate as soon as you can.
To nominate either pick up a flyer from The Hawth, K2 and Crawley Borough Council Town Hall, fill in the form in the newspaper or nominate online at goo.gl/bb66Ju
