Crawley Borough Council has put out a call for an architect to oversee the £2.5million regeneration of the town hall.
The overhaul of the 50-year-old building would likely see “significant structural refurbishment works”, according to the brief given by the council, and the changes may also see a number of small shops added.
Work on the 9,600m² building, which hosts more than 600 staff, is planned to be complete by 2017.
Whoever wins the £40,000 contract will be expected to improve the look of the town hall as well as making it easier to navigate for staff and customers.
Architects have until June 8 to submit requests to take part in the tendering process.
