Crawley crews called to electrical fire in airport hangar

Firefighters were called to an electrical fire in Gatwick Airport.

The two Crawley crews were dispatched to hangar six, which is used by British Airways, at 11.14pm on Thursday (March 12), said West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokesman said an electrical fuse board had accidentally ignited.

The firefighters arrived in four minutes and put the small fire out with a CO2 extinguisher.

They left the scene at 12.07am.
