Crawley park’s plea after swan killed by dog

A Crawley park has pleaded with dog owners to keep their pets ‘under control’ after a swan was killed over the weekend.

The bird was attacked at Douster Pond in Buchan Country Park and rangers have posted an appeal on Facebook to try and stop similar attacks from occurring in the future.

The post reads: “We know that the large majority of dog walkers who come to the park are sensible but we must put out a reminder to keep your dogs under close control in the park.”
