Crawley police helicopter search after attempted burglary

The police helicopter was scrambled after an attempted burglary in Crawley.

Police were called to reports of a man attempting to break into a home in Barrington Road, Southgate, at about 8.30pm on Wednesday (March 23).

A police spokeswoman said: “The home owner disturbed the man who ran along his back garden and nothing was stolen.” Police appealed for witnesses after no-one was arrested following a police search of the area.

The suspect was described as white, clean shaven wearing jogging trousers, a coat with the hood up and a cap underneath.

Anyone with information or saw anyone acting suspicious in the area was asked to contact police on [email protected] quoting serial 1606 of 21/03.
