Friends of a Crawley woman with terminal cancer are putting on a fundraiser to help her fulfill her dream of going to Lapland next month.
Denise Brett, Michele Treen-Hyam and Laura Mansfield have teamed up to run the event at the Three Bridges LB1 bar on Saturday November 21.
The evening will start at 6pm with a Santa’s grotto for the children and continue for the adults until just after midnight with a disco, raffle and auction.
The aim is to raise £3,000 which will enable Nikki Hopkins and her husband Mark to go to the Christmas wonderland.
Mother-of-three sons Nikki, from Gossops Green, has stage four ovarian cancer and the trip is on her ‘bucket list’ of things she wants to do.
The 52-year-old said: “I’ve known these three lovely girls for many, many years.
“All three of my girls have been marvellous since I was diagnosed always helping me through the bad times.
“To do this charity event for me is one of the best things ever, to know that my girls love me so much they are making my wishes come true.
“Without these girls my wish wouldn’t be coming true, for them to do this for me and Mark is truly amazing, my Mark will have a magical memory to remember forever.”
From 6pm-8pm children can visit Santa at the grotto for £1 each where they will have the chance to guess the name of the teddy bear at 50p a go.
From 8pm the adult event will run, which will include an auction on the night for a signed football from Manchester United Football Club, a signed Crawley Football Club shirt and signed Brighton and Hove Albion FC shirt.
There will also be a raffle with prizes including hair salon vouchers, an MOT and service from Halfords, a hot air balloon ride for two, a stay in a deluxe room at the Waterhall Country Hotel in Ifield Green and a sightseeing trip around London.
Organiser Denise said: “My sister, me and my best friend decided this was something we would do for her. We want to make as much money as we can. No one knows her time.
“The manager of LB1, Tony, has said everyone who pay the £5, all that money will go to it.
She added: “We will have two lovely man willing to be butlers in the buff. Tony is providing the shots that the butlers will be selling and giving us all the money made from it, his also allowing us to use his venue free of charge. For anyone who cannot attend but would still like to donate towards Nikki’s trip, the team has set up a Go Fund Me at www.gofundme.com/4w462wgf
