Crawley Town FC investigates Cheltenham Festival fight claims

Crawley Town Football Club has launched an investigation into claims its manager and players were seen fighting at the Cheltenham Festival.

People on Twitter alleged they were involved in a fight in the Guinness Village yesterday (Tuesday March 15).

@LukeSmith11 said: “@crawleytown your players were a disgrace yesterday. Especially your manager. Imagine ‘if’ we had video footage of that fight.”

@matthammered said: “@crawleytown Walton and a couple of the others were fighting in the Guinness village at Cheltenham festival yesterday

“Need to teach your players how to behave when out @crawleytown”

A spokesman for Crawley Town FC confirmed players and members of management were at the first day of horse racing festival.

He said: “The club are aware of allegations on social media regarding the Cheltenham Festival.

“We will conduct our own internal investigations and until those are complete we will be making no further comment.”
