Emergency services were called to a ‘punch-up’ outside a pub in Crawley High Street.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene outside the Jubilee Oak pub at just before 4pm today (September 11).
Luke Milburn who sent this photo said two police cars and a van were called to the ‘drunken’ fight involving two men.
He said one was put into the back of an ambulance.
Officers restrained the other man and carried him into the van.
Luke said: “It looked like he had cuts on his head.
“In the middle of a busy town centre in the middle of the day - it’s ridiculous.
“I’ve got kids myself, they were not with me thank god, it’s crazy.”
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police were called to Crawley High Street just before 4pm on Friday (11 September) after a report of two men fighting outside the Jubilee Oak pub. One man has been arrested.
“Officers are busy investigating the incident and no further information is available at this time.”
A Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “One of the pub’s customers was at the front of the pub in a non-smoking area.
“Someone who wasn’t in the pub walked by and we understand punches were exchanged.
“The pub’s duty manager went out after being alerted to the incident but the assailant had left.”
Mr Gershon said the company was not aware of staff reportedly mopping up blood from the scene before police arrived.
He said: “Some glass which was on the floor was cleared up, but we are not aware of any blood being mopped up.
“We will assist the police in any way possible.”
