A Crawley school and police are working together after a man followed a girl.

Oriel High School headteacher Philip Stack said a man who has been loitering in Maidenbower followed a schoolgirl and stared at students.

He said in a letter to parents: “I do not wish to cause any alarm, but I felt it prudent to advise our students that there is a local young man who is causing us some concern due to his strange behaviour.

“No harm has come to any of our students, but he has been known to follow a student on one occasion and on another has stood staring at a group of students.

“He is in his early twenties, of mixed race with a shaved head and is often seen wearing a hoodie. I encourage our students to let you and us know if they have any concerns about this young man.”
