A Crawley man sought by police after he failed to appear at court in September has been jailed.
Ryan Higson, 27, of no fixed address, had been due to answer a charge of theft from a shop and breach of a community order on September 30.
Following efforts to trace him, Higson, 27, handed himself in to officers on November 25.
On Friday November 27, unemployed Higson appeared before Crawley magistrates.
He was charged with three counts of shoplifting, to which he pleaded guilty, and asked for ten similar offences to be taken into consideration, police said.
He also admitted failing to surrender to bail.
The court sentenced Higson to a total of 26 weeks’ imprisonment and ordered him to pay victim and court costs.
