Faygate home searched after armed robbery in Gossops Green

Sussex Police has this week released details of an armed robbery last month which resulted in a house in Faygate being searched for firearms.

On the evening of Saturday July 18, a 27-year-old man was driving a van in Crawley when he was robbed of £200 in cash by two men.

The robbery happened while his van was stationary at a junction in Craigans, Gossops Green.

One of the men showed what appeared to be a handgun, police said, and the other man had a knife. There was no violence and no injury.

On August 6, police arrested a 22-year-old man from Eastbourne on suspicion of taking part in the robbery.

Following the arrest, a house in Beeches Way, Faygate was searched.

Police said no firearms were found during the search.

The Eastbourne man has been released on bail until September 23.
