Four more Crawley drivers convicted of drink-driving

Clare Cole, unemployed, of Findon Road, Crawley, was arrested in Crawley Avenue, on 26 June, officers said.

The 31-year-old was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving with a revoked licence, possession of cocaine and possession of heroin.

She pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on August 10 and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. 
She also received a 12-month community order, and was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Police said Renato Bejam, a courier, of Ifield Road, was arrested in Ifield Road, Crawley, on July 2.

The 23-year-old was charged with driving with 83mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

He pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on August 8 and was disqualified from driving for 18 months. He was also ordered to pay a £350 fine, £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge

Kevin Clark, a builder, of Town Barn Road, was arrested in Langley Parade, on July 2.

The 59-year-old was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on August 1 and was disqualified from driving for 18 months. He was also ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, and pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Waldemar Jarecki, self-employed, of Adamson Court, was arrested on the M23 at Crawley on July 9.

The 51-year-old was charged with driving with 64mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

He pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on July 25 and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £115 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Officers said a total of 102 motorists have been convicted since Operation Dragonfly, the campaign to target drink and drug-drivers, was run between June 6 and July 10.
