Gruesome discovery near village school between Horsham and Crawley

A gruesome discovery has been uncovered in a layby near a Sussex village school.

A number of sheep were found ‘butchered’ and a noose discovered at the layby in Handcross.

Police say that seven lower limbs of sheep were found on the ground in the layby behind Handcross Park School on May 25.

A spokesman said: “Also there a was a noose and some netting hanging in the hedge. It is believed that the sheep were caught and butchered on site.”

Police are now appealing for anyone who knows anything about the killings to come forward.
