Ifield murder: Woman suspect’s bail extended

A woman who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder 21-year-old student Janet Muller has had her police bail extended.

Janet’s body was found in the boot of a burning Volkswagen Jetta off Rusper Road, Ifield, on March 13.

The University of Brighton student’s post-mortem revealed she died of smoke inhalation in the car.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said a 34-year-old woman from Dulwich, South London, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy of her murder and released on police bail to appear at court today (Monday March 30), has had her bail was extended to May 13 while enquiries continued.

Christopher Jeffrey-Shaw, 26, of Lakeside, Beckenham, London, appeared at Guildford Crown Court charged with murdering Janet on March 19.

Jeffrey-Shaw was remanded in custody to appear before the court again on April 9.
