In July, and the last couple of days of June, Sussex saw paedophiles, thieves, drug dealers and more sent to jail for their crimes. Here are some of the most high profile.
Ian Edwards, 36, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on July 6 having pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and crack cocaine
2. Joshua Sawyer
Hastings' Joshua Sawyer, 29, was jailed for six years on July 7 after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possessing an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, possessing firearm ammunition when prohibited and breaching a suspended GBH sentence. He was arrested on April 17 and a holdall was found with an imitation sawn-off shotgun, 25 cartridges and cocaine worth £3,500.
3. Daniel Passmore
Daniel Passmore, 26, of no fixed address, burgled three homes in Eastbourne on April 18, just three weeks after being released from prison. He was sentenced to four years in jail for each burglary, to run concurrently, on July 7.
4. Tafari Grant
Tafari Grant, 45, of New Barns Avenue in Mitcham, was jailed for three years after admitting two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. While his car was searched in Bexhill in 2018, he tried to hide Kinder Egg capsules containing drugs in the police car. He then absconded to Jamaica for 18 months.
