September 2:

Sarah Baldwin, 31, of Fennel Crescent, Crawley, pleaded guilty to three charges of assaulting a police officer. The offences took place at Langley Green, Crawley, on April 5. She was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £300 in compensation.

Ross Drummond, 39, of Massetts Road, Horley, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Crawley on September 17 last year. The court made a community order with a 12 week electronically monitored curfew between 8pm and 5am. He was ordered to pay £250 compensation and £250 in prosecution costs. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

Stewart Hicks, 41, of no fixed address, indicated a plea of guilty to entering WH Smiths, at Gatwick Airport, as a trespasser with intent to steal. The offence took place on July 29. He also pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer at Crawley on the same date. The court made a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement.

Carl Worsfold, 37, of Little Brentswood, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a woman by repeatedly making unwanted contact through phone calls and messages. The offence took place at Haywards Heath between February 15 and March 3. He also pleaded guilty to sending threatening text messages on February 9 and to assault by beating at Haywards Heath on February 10. The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £300 in prosecution costs.

September 7:

Lee Fernandes, 34, of Greenwhich, London, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on Perimeter Road North, Gatwick, on February 19 with cannabis in his blood stream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream and to driving with no insurance at Gatwick on the same date. He was fined a total of £360 and banned from driving for one year.

Valerie Gates, 66, of Woodgates Close, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Depot Road, Horsham, on June 19, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 89 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She also pleaded guilty to failing to stop following an accident in which damage was caused to four other vehicles at Depot Road, Horsham, on the same date. She was fined £861 and banned from driving for 20 months.

Daniel Heronneau, 27, of Station Road, Horley, was convicted of two charges of assault and a charge of damaging a phone. The offences took place at Folkestone, Kent, on July 18. The court made a community order and ordered him to pay £480 in compensation.

Aaron Thomas, 22, of Woodcote Place, Lambeth, London, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Focus on the A23, at Handcross, Haywards Heath, on August 9, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 52 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £369 and banned from driving for one year.

George Wickens, 57, of Jevington Road, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Valebridge Road, Burgess Hill, on April 30, while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance on the same date and to driving in such a position that he could not have had proper control of the vehicle. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for two years and banned from driving for 48 months. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was previous convictions for similar offending. He was fined £120 for the insurance offence.

Ezra Medley-Feehan, 36, of Dexter Close, Canterbury, Kent, indicated a plea of guilty to interfering with the performance of an Easy Jet aircraft crew. The offence took place at Gatwick on June 17. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £150 in compensation.

James Clayton, 44, of Bishopstone Walk, Crawley, was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identity of the driver of a Mitsubishi vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, at Shoreham on September 12 last year. He was fined £660 and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

September 9:

Michael Lambert, 57, of Canada Grove, Bognor Regis, pleaded guilty to causing £118.50 to a window. The offence took place at Crawley on May 5. 
He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £118.50 in compensation. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

Tayab Khan, 20, of Adamson Court, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a Toyota vehicle at Broadfield, Crawley, on August 11, with no licence or insurance. He was fined £160 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points.

Phillip Reader, 41, of Bourton Road, Banbury, Oxfordshire, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon - a knuckle duster, at Gatwick Airport on March 20. 
He also indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a police baton at Gatwick Airport on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work.

Gerald Maughan, 49, of Goffs Park Road, Crawley, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Crawley on August 13. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for one year. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was that the offence involve an ‘unprovoked attack on a public worker’ and previous convictions.
