July 28:

Harvey Arnell, 22, of Lutyens Close, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Clio on Crawley Avenue, Crawley, on January 4 with cannabis in his bloodstream. He was fined £403 and banned from driving for one year.

Marie Edouarde, 30, of St Mary’s Drive, Crawley, indicated a plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer. The offence took place at Crawley on June 28. She was given a one year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

George Crasciunescu, 25, of Station Road, East Grinstead, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Northgate Avenue, Crawley, on March 25, while more than three times over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 111 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 25 months.

Jay Nayee, 24, of Apsley Court, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta on Fennel Crescent, Crawley, on May 16, while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance and to obstructing a police officer on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for six months.

Pranil Parekh, 32, of Honeysuckle Drive, Crawley, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when suspected of being in charge of a vehicle. He was fined £346 and his driving record endorsed with ten penalty points.

Kevin Ada, 37, of Ifield Drive, Crawley, pleaded guilty to being in charge of a Volkswagen Golf on Gossops Drive, Gossops Green, Crawley, on July 5, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 51 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He also pleaded guilty to permitting the use of a motor vehicle which had no insurance and to driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, at Crawley on the same date. He was fined a total of £600 and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

Kayden Greenslade, 23, of Ifield Road, West Green, Crawley, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Pease Pottage on May 8. He was given a one year conditional discharge.

Anthony Newman, 32, of Bentswood, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988. The offence took place at Salfords, on February 22. He also pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Zafira at Burstow, on the same date, when disqualified from driving. He pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour at Burstow on February 22. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and banned from driving for 41 months. Magistrates said the reason for the custodial sentence is that the offence was committed shortly after being disqualified and an accident occurred.

Akhtar Zaman, 52, of Heather Close, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on the M23 at Crawley, on August 1, while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance to wilfully obstructing a police officer on the same date. He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for two years. 
The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for six years.

August 5:

Joseph Wilson, 30, of Meadowside, Storrington, indicated guilty pleas to two charges of assaulting a police officer. The offences took place at Horsham on November 2 last year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 90 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £150 in compensation.
