October 7:

Robert Hayes, 38, of Orchard Road, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Worthing on June 24. He was fined £80.

Timothy Thresie, 28, of Graveney Road, Maidenbower, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi vehicle on the A23 at Handcross, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 88 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £530 and banned from driving for 22 months.

October 8:

Graham Keeley, 39, of Three Bridges Road, Crawley, pleaded guilty to stealing items, worth £54, from Tesco at Crawley on August 16. He also pleaded guilty to stealing items, worth £96.50, from the same store on August 18. He was fined £30 and ordered to pay compensation of £54.

James Kennedy, 23, of Lavington Close, Crawley, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a kitchen knife in a public place at Ifield Green, Crawley, on September 10. He also indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Ifield Green, on the same date. He was sentenced to two weeks in prison, suspended for six months.

Dean Lawless, 39, of Thatcher Close, Southgate, Crawley, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a front door. The offence took place at Salisbury Road, Crawley, on August 11. He was ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation.

Brett Paine, 29, of Hoy Crescent, Ifield, Crawley, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Horsham on May 22. He also indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cocaine at Crawley on the same date. The court made a community order with a two month electronically monitored curfew between 7pm and 7am.

Autumn Wharrie, 58, of Churchill Road, Smallfield, Horley, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on Balcombe Road, Crawley, on April 28, while disqualified from driving. She also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance on the same date. 
She was fined £120 and her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

October 13:

Shaun Hutchings, 57, of High Street, Partridge Green, Horsham, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a red traffic light signal while driving on the A270 Lewes Road, at Brighton, on December 17 last year. He was fined £146 and his driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.

October 14:

Gemma Roberts, 33, of Peary Close, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on South Holmes Road, Horsham, on January 22, with cannabis in her blood stream. She was fined £80 and banned from driving for one year.

Anar Sha, 28, of Highfield Road, Tipton, Sandwell, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour toward crew while in an aircraft at South Terminal Gatwick on August 8. He was fined £440.

Rosham Patel, 29, of Paddockhall Road, Haywards Heath, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon - a knuckle-duster - at Hazelgrove Road, Haywards Heath, on August 14. He was fined £120.

Lucas Philbrock, 18, of Park Terrace East, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a moped on St Leonards Road, Horsham, on August 18, while twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 76 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 17 months.

Aaron Bailey, 23, of High Trees, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to four charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Haywards Heath between May 13 and September 13. He also pleaded guilty to destroying a set of glasses, belonging to the victim, at Haywards Heath, on September 13 and to destroying a mobile phone on the same date.


The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £300 in compensation.

Owen Tossell, 24, of St Catherines Road, Littlehampton, indicated a plea of guilty to being in breach of a court restraining order by contacting a woman. The offence took place at Burgess Hill on May 14. The court made a community order.

Alan Lewis, 59, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of a woman by approaching her in the street and loitering on a number of occasions. The offence took place at Horsham between November 8 last year and February 24. He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison.

Magistrates said the reason for the custodial sentence was that it was ‘stalking of the highest category, with planning and the intention to continue. The court issued a restraining order.

Laura Mearns, 24, of Malefont Street, Cardiff, Wales, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer, The offence took place at Crawley on July 10. The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and ordered her to pay £100 in compensation.

Patrick Eagle, 22, of Dragons Lane, Shipley, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi vehicle on Sleets Road, Broadbridge Heath, on February 2, with cannabis and the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. 
He was fined £500 and banned from driving for 23 months.
