January 27:

Jack Veaney, 25, of Cuckmere Crescent, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on Worth Park Avenue, Crawley, on December 22, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 59 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £350 and banned from driving for one year.

Damian Northcott, 44, of The Dingle, Crawley, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Crawley on December 31. He indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon – a knife – in a public place at Crawley on the same date. He indicated a plea of guilty to using threatening behaviour at Crawley police station on January 1. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on February 25 and released on conditional bail.

Jamie Clarke, 28, of Stephenson Way, Three Bridges, Crawley, indicated a plea of guilty to stealing power tools worth £123 from Lidl in Bognor Regis on February 22 last year. He also indicated a plea of guilty to attempting to steal a bottle of Jack Daniels from Morrisons, at Bognor Regis, on March 13 and pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour at Bognor Regis on the same date. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. The court made a six day Alcohol Abstinence Requirement and ordered him to pay £123 in compensation.

Ashley Mullen-Franklin, 26, of Vancouver Road, Eastbourne, was found guilty of assault by beating. The offence took place at Crawley on February 7 last year. He was also found guilty of damaging items belonging to the victim at Crawley on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £1,037 in compensation. The verdict was proved in his absence.

Lee Coleman, 45, of Partridge Lane, Dorking, Surrey, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes vehicle on the A22 at Forest Row, on February 19, last year, with cocaine in his blood stream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with cannabis and the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream at Forest Row on the same date. He was fined £600 and banned from driving for three years.

February 1:

Kelvyn Furminger, 54, of Brighton Road, Southgate, Crawley, indicated a plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer. The offence took place at Crawley on January 29. He pleaded guilty to two charges of using threatening behaviour, and to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis, at Crawley on the same date. He was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and sentenced to eight weeks in prison. Magistrates said the reason for the custodial sentence was his record of offending.

Edmund Domfeh, 37, of Longhurst Road, Croydon, indicated guilty pleas to two charges of being in breach of a court restraining order by sending text messages. The offences took place at Crawley on March 16 and April 15 last year. He was fined £120.

Joseph Giles, 30, of Boston Road, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi vehicle, on Fox Hill, Haywards Heath, on December 1, while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance at Haywards Heath on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 60 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for eight months.

February 2:

Jerome Anicet, 35, of Harlands Road, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Three bridges railway station on January 1. He was fined £50.

Frederic Boyero, 43, of Broadfield Park, Pease Pottage, Crawley, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Crawley on December 31. He was fined £120.

Stephen Tomlin, 57, of Capricorn Close, Bewbush, Crawley, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Crawley on October 22 last year. He was fined £40.

Zibi Alexis, 27, of Dampier Walk, Eddington Hill, Crawley, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The offence took place at Crawley on May 5 last year. He was fined £120.

Lee Whittaker, 48, of Blackwell Farm Road, East Grinstead, pleaded guilty to driving a Saab vehicle on Larkins Road, Gatwick, on June 11, while over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 59 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £389 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points. Magistrates decided not to impose a driving ban ruling that ‘his wife was ill and he had no choice but to drive’.
